First Day Photo

Owen's last first day of school ever.

Owen is now in his second week of school. I started tutoring today; schools have finally reopened after being closed all last week due to Earl. My kids are great, a boy and a girl both 6 grade. We attended the spouses dinner Friday night and met some nice people. We rented a wave runner on Saturday and went all around Simpson Bay Lagoon. There are a few pictures from that below. Most were blurry since they were on a waterproof point and shoot we borrowed from a friend. We bought a TV off another student and can now play our Wii. We have a mixer tonight at the school and Owen's white coat ceremony is Friday. I'll post a link for the streamed video of it this week. Other than that life is settling into a routine. Nothing else exciting to update right now. Here's a few pictures. Hope everyone is doing well, miss you all.

  1. Oh the joy of last "first days". Get ready! Hey one of you is having a birthday today but Im not sure who. So HBD to the birthday-person. I love the blog and pics. It seems like you are not quite as far away. Why are Owen's eyes so big in the school pic? Can we see a pic of your apt and the view from one of your windows? All is well here in CT. I hope this post stays. For some reason they seem to disappear.
Praying for you both, the CT-Allens

  2. Happy Birthday Owen!!!

Now you've had your birthday "out of the country" too. Dad says "Nah, nah Jamie."
Thanks for the recent pictures. It's fun to see the island from the sea. Although small by your point of view it seems there are a few hills to climb. Jamie, it's wonderful that your new students are at such great ages. We're sure that you will be a great help to them in the coming year and perhaps the next as well.
Labor Day weekend was spectacular here and you both were missed.

We wish you a great week and peaceful weather as you truly settle into a routine now. We will be tuning in on Friday for the "White Coat Ceremony." Can't wait to see it.

Love from our house to yours
    Char, Dave, Jared
