Since I'm trying to catch up on blogging, I'm going to do one general post of highlights from our 3 months in Syracuse, NY. Owen worked a lot, I volunteered a lot, and we had a little fun here and there :) We also had several visitors, including Tony, Virginia, and Victoria; Dave and Charlotte; Tammy and Todd. Niagara Falls....Frozen!

At the beginning of February, we headed out to the Buffalo area (from Syracuse) to visit our friends Cayleigh and Jason, who had just moved back from St Maarten. Fortunately Cayleigh was willing to take the weekend off from Step studying to hang out and Jason had some free time between work shifts. We had lots of fun catching up, seeing Niagara Falls, watching the superbowl, meeting their families and seeing their hometown. It was so great to see them and spend some time catching up after a year apart. Always great to see med school/St Maarten friends :)

Turns out we both bought the same car!                                                                 And we all look so different off island...aka bundled up ;)
Superbowl party...Etzio thought he deserved a place on the couch too

Niagara Falls...Frozen!
Since it was an extremely cold winter in Upstate New York, Niagara Falls had actually frozen over! This was a rare chance to see the falls frozen, so we headed out there for the day. The day we went, part of the falls had melted, but it was still amazing to see the falls partially frozen. We crossed the border into Canada since the views are better, and to keep up our record of being out of country every year since 2009! We walked around in the snow for a while, snapped some goofy pictures at Ripley's, and grabbed hot chocolates at Tim Hortons. I'll post a few pictures here, but if you'd like to see more check out our picasa album... Niagara Falls Frozen
